It was a lively 2nd half with Millwall coming out on fire, the Lions were determined to capitalise on their 1 goal advantage, Steve Morison almost put a blinding shot into the top corner, but the Carlisle keepers fingers just tipped the ball wide, a second blinding chance somehow went wide and just when every Millwall fan could barely take any more Morison finally found the back of the net on the 70th with a stunning header.
Carlisle continued to be a dangerous force going forward, the substitutions of Scott Dobie for Richard Offiong and Kevan Hurst for on loan Stoke striker Ben Marshall saw a much more attacking Carlisle. Their efforts paid off on the 90th minute with a goal from Danny Livesey, (although their was some debate and incident with David Forde surrounding the goals validity).
However just as Carlisle fans began to hope, or is that dream of a late equalizer, the Lions substitute Danny Schofield put in a third, 1 minute into time added on putting the game out of Carlisle’s reach.
A vital win in the build up for Saturdays home game against Charlton, if the Lions can win at the Den, it would take them to within a point of Charlton, currently 3rd in the table. Tonight’s win combined with Swindon’s 2-1 defeat away at the MK Dons sees Millwall move up to 5th in the League.
