What has happend to all the those deserving of our love? Those that have truly entertained us for years? I was so saddened to hear of the death of Wendy Richards recently, but was also surprised since I hadn't heard all that much about her cancer in the press, the way it should be.
My thoughts are with Sir Bobby Robson who continues his struggle against Cancer with dignity and decorum.
I think as a nation we need to take a long hard look at ourselves and ask the qestion 'How fickle have we become?'.
Such a valid point. As society as a whole has declined, unfortunately so have our expectations. If I'd known that all I had to do to get famous was go on BB overweight and flash my tits, well I could have managed both!
ReplyDeleteAnd as for this ridiculous idea of a statue, as you said, what about all those whose life was dedicated to bettering our lives, whether through television or public service? There are many more deserving - Sick and Wrong!
